Accommodations

Guests at Ecotoucan stay in private thatch-roofed cabins made out of native materials found on our land. Less than 1/2 hectare was cleared to build the cabins; over 40 hectares have been preserved and are used for jungle walks to observe local plants and animals. Each of the five cabins has its own private verandah with sitting area, bathroom and shower with hot and cold water, tiled floors, screened windows, and solar powered electricity.

The cabins are bright, spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated in traditional Mexican colors. Cabins come with one double and one single bed or with two doubles; all have dressing and sitting areas. Each cabin is surrounded by its own private plantings and flowers, creating a colorful and beautiful backdrop to Laguna Bacalar.

Cabins for two adults (and up to two children under twelve) are $50 USD per night. During Christmas Season (December 18 through January 6) rates are $65 per night. An extra person costs $5 more per night; for an extra child or child over twelve, please add $3.

Rates include accomodations, taxes, full breakfast, and use of facility including kayaks, badminton, bocci, croquet, dock, and jungle trails. Rates do not include lunch, dinner, boat or day trips, guided tours, or mountain bike rental.
